If, like me, you're very keen to wrap your lips around the "World's Finest Porter" this winter, you may wish to check out the list of 2008 cask stockists found on the Fuller's website.
The list comprises 90 Fuller's houses located across the South of England - but you may need to get in quick. London Porter is officially the seasonal ale for November, soon to be replaced by the blackberry-tinged Jack Frost as December's designated monthly. I've just contacted my local stockist and they are on their last cask of Porter which may or may not last through a busy lunchtime and into this evening. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
If anyone spots London Porter in any other pubs not featured in the list, or any that continue to stock it beyond November, please provide details in a comment below.

Pleased to report that it was still on and bloody gorgeous too. Despite our group's best efforts to see off the barrel with 19 pints consumed collectively, it remained defiantly available at the end of the evening.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem to dry you out though. Not sure if it's the heavy burnt roasted malts that do it but after three pints I was gasping!
Off to Brum tomorrow where the northermost Fullers sits - If the Old Joint Stock has it, I will try my damnedest to drink it all.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteIt's been at many of the Ossett Brewery pubs here in West Yorkshire recently. The reciprocal agreement with Fullers means it turns up fairly frequently (we even saw it in summer!) with the White Horse (Emley) Rat & Ratchet (Huddersfield) and Fernandes (Wakefield) probably getting the lion's share. Had some at Emley last week where it was just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware of the reciprocal agreement with Ossett. In my experience it's very rare for Fuller's pubs in the capital to offer any ales other than their own.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear it's been hitting the North too. Far too good a beer to be exclusively available to us Southern Fairies.
Dubbel - if you do see Ossett at a Fullers I'd like to hear from you. My spies in the Capitol have drawn a blank so far but it is being sent down there so somewhere must be doing it!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep an eye out. Prime suspects would be (the only two Fuller's houses I am aware off that sell guest ales) The Doric Arch and The Euston Flyer, both within a stone's throw of Euston Station. Although I suspect there are a few more out there too.
ReplyDeleteLots of Fullers pubs in London have guest beers. The Melton Mowbray on High Holborn almost always does, and the Artillery Arms and the Counting House frequently do too.
ReplyDeleteNot sure whether I'll be able to find Fullers porter in my neck of the woods but I sure would like to try it again.
ReplyDeleteIt was on indeed at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Plenty of bottles of it in the fridge too.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite Fuller's beers! They do an excellent brewery tour, if you haven't been on it I say its well worth taking a trip over to Chiswick. The details are on their site www.fullers.co.uk under the tours section.
ReplyDeleteI've been on the tour, it is great and you get to try a sample of all the different beers at the end which is great. One of my favourites is Organic Honey Dew but I am quite partial to ESB when its cold!
ReplyDeleteTaking three weeks off?! How dare you!
ReplyDeleteQuite right Will! We will try and rectify this appauling situation asap. It's been a busy busy 3 weeks too.
